The Mud Home News

Natural building how-to, sustainable construction, and earth-friendly, off-grid living tips.

The Mud Home News is the monthly publication to accompany The Mud Home. Here’s where I share my latest articles, tips and recommendations.

About me

Back in 2011 I found myself out of funds, and ended up camping in a Turkish field. It was the best thing that happened to me. I discovered a deep love of nature and, surprisingly for me, natural building. Eventually, I gathered some friends and with no experience whatsoever we constructed a mud home. That story is the subject of my Mud Series of books.

I'm passionate about people building their own natural homes, using natural materials to renovate and decorate, and reconnecting with nature. I share oodles of my own experience and knowledge over on my main website: THE MUD HOME.

Over at The Mud Home, you can find a wealth of information on all manner of natural building techniques including earthbag building, wattle and daub, and clay and lime plasters and paints. If it's inspiration you're after, read about my own journey in the Mud Mountain Blog. If you’re planning on going off-grid, definitely sign up for my free Off-Grid Prep Course.

Otherwise, buckle up for a muddy ride through some alternative ways of living and building.
